So this is Christmas...
Christmas passed pretty uneventfully. I got the default "girly" gifts from all the relatives who haven't seen me in years (body wash sets, makeup kits, earrings, charm bracelets, anything pink, anything with an American Idol logo, etc.), but I'm pretty used to those. It's nice that all the aunts/uncles/cousins that I don't know keep getting me something, even if those somethings betray how little they really know about me. I did get a picture frame with a butterfly pattern, but I actually do like butterflies, so it was a lucky guess.
The stocking stuffers were pretty predictable: candy (mostly the extremely cheap stuff, but a few truffles worked their way in there), including a toy reindeer that dispenses sugary goodness from a rather predictable location, Our Dumb Century, and two books of George Bushisms (courtesy of my brother, proving that he may, in fact, be developing a sense of humor. Or maybe Mom just told him to buy it).
Predictably enough, since I come from a long line of bibliophiles, there were plenty of other books in there: 120 Banned Books, I Am America (And So Can You!), a Shakespeare anthology, and a hand-me-down set of classics (since my mom got a new one a while ago). Sadly, I don't really have anywhere to put them o.0
On a more self-indulgent front, I did get two new games (Odin Sphere and Persona 3). Mmmn. I've dented P3 with FORTY HOURS of gameplay in the last week. It's been delicious ;) But more on that later. I also got the film adaptation of RENT; I'll probably watch it tonight, since it's such a nice New Year's movie.
